Talladega Superspeedway – a storied race track and racing icon. Songs have, quite literally, been written about this place and the week-long parties that happen here.

Last week, I was lucky enough to be chosen to go on a work trip to help set up a new Lumber mill in Talladega, AL. While I spent most of the week hunched over the keyboard of a laptop in a tiny office, I did get to go on a little fieldtrip at the end of the week. During the off season, you can take a guided bus tour of the Talladega Superspeedway race track and stadium.

For only $8, you receive a wonderful 20-minute history lesson about the stadium, track, and races that have happened there. The pièce de résistance was that in the middle of the tour, the driver lets you out of the bus to walk on the track and take pictures!  I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.

Tell me about your travels in the comments, lovelies!
