Ath-lying

Don’t let this outfit fool you, I didn’t work out all weekend.

But I did spend a bunch of time on the water with this hunk!

It wasn’t that I was super unhealthy this weekend but it just wasn’t a priority. I’m making a pledge to y’all right now that I’m going to work out 3 times this week and eat healthy all week! Maybe I’ll actually put this outfit to work this week ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Yoga pants: Nordstrom – $28-$55

Tank top: Under Armour – $30 (black & grey)

Sweater: Nordstrom – $45 (currently out of stock)

Anyone else want to try to be healthy with me this week??

Hat + Love

I’ve never been a hat person. I always thought they smooshed my head funny or that they made my hair look weird. However, hats are a HUGE fall trend and ya gurl loves a trend.

As I was perusing through Target with my parents this weekend, I spotted this beauty across the aisle and I knew that I had to try her on. From that moment on, I barely took her off of my head. And I’m not too proud to say that whenever I saw my reflection, I stopped at stared at our combined beauty!

Her very first outing was to visit JT at work with my folks where he could give us a tour of the boats that he drives for work in the Coast Guard. I’m so proud of the things that he does and it was so fun to see him in his element being a boss.

If you can’t find this beauty here are some similar hats:

College Football Fever

I’m so happy that college football is back!! I graduated from Auburn University 3 years ago, being there are some of my favorite memories and cheering on the Tigers takes me back to those times. I’m not so great at the football strategy but I’m a GREAT cheerleader haha.

What makes this weekend even better is that my folks came to visit me this weekend! Living on the other side of the country from them makes me cherish my time with them even more. Doesn’t hurt that my Dad talks me through the strategy and mom cheers with me haha.

(Disclaimer: this was taken before the game and Dad hadn’t changed into his shirt – we do not support any red teams (especially Bama ๐Ÿคฎ))

I love this jersey, it’s about 5 years old and it was a bit expensive but it has been totally worth it. My secret is that this is actually a Youth XL! Buying a youth size will save you $15-25 and it’s basically the same size (but a little wider than an adult small).

What school do y’all root for??

Hopeโ€™s Try On Session

Hey lovelies!

I recently did some shopping at this super cute boutique on Saint Simons Island that I really love. I wanted to show y’all some of the things that I really liked that I think will be great for fall!

First up, is this super cute teal sweater that I loved so much I bought it! These sleeves were so cute and I lovedddd the drama of them. This is going to look so cute over jeans with boots or with shorts while we’re still in the fall transition.

Sweater: This is us sweater – $40

(currently Pre-Order)

LOVE these sleeves!

So, I’m going to plead me culpa here. I tried this dress on and I’m so dumb, I forgot to take a picture ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. BUT this was a super cute flirty little dress that also comes in a light teal.

My fave part of this dress was the strappy back. Even though it did make it kind of difficult to put on haha.

Leave Me Breathless Dress – $35

So this sweater was giving me some Hogwarts vibes. I felt like I had just been sorted into Gryffindor with these longgg sleeves and colors.

Sweater: Fall Festival Cutie Sweater – $39 (currently Pre-Order)

These lightweight joggers were so comfy I nearly curled up on the seat in the dressing room and started a Netflix binge ๐Ÿ˜‚.

These are the tan version because sadly this color is sold out

Kickin’ it Joggers – $36

Besides this stuff, this boutique has a TON of cute stuff online that’s not in the boutique storefront.

Let me know what y’all think!!

The 90โ€™s are calling ๐Ÿ“ž

As a 90s baby, I never got to really enjoy the truly “iconic” fashion of the 90s haha. That being said, 90s throwback fashion is totally having a moment right here in 2018. As I’m getting to experience 90s-lite I’ve been incorporating some elements into my day to day. My fave currently is a long sleeve jacket/shirt tied around the waist.

Truthfully, this is a multi-tasking trend and I will seriously miss it when it dies. Firstly, two hands free to do things (like shop ๐Ÿ˜‰) while not loosing the potential comfort needed in changing stores…location’s climates haha. Second, if you tie it at your natural waist you can use it to pull focus to the smallest part of your silhouette giving a leaner look. Lastly, it can take an outfit and make it into a lewk.

Flannel: Walmart $10

This is actually a men’s flannel shirt that I bought at Walmart in college and I love the over-sized fit. I think this is a M or L.

Tank: Forever 21 $6

Skirt: Forever 21 $18

This isn’t the exact skirt I’m wearing but I feel like this is a good mix of modern and grunge-ish.

Shoes: Target $10 (currently out of stock)

Ked’s $40

Amazon $20 (Ked’s dupe)

Backpack: Target $37

I loved this look that I wore to dinner and a movie with my babe. Also, as a side note: this was a great look for the GA heat and then a cold movie theater once I snuggled up in my flannel. Fashion & Function!

Let me know what you lovelies think in the comments!

Summer to Fall transition

Hey lovelies!

In theory, the weather is suppose to be cooling off soon (probably not here in South GA for a while though lol). So with that in mind, I thought I’d show y’all a look that I love that easily transitions from spring/summer to fall.

This dress is one of my faves right now because it’s simple, easy, and comfy. Also super cheap! Amazon $10

I paired it with a classic jean jacket (tied at my natural waist to pull the eye to the smallest part of me) and a statement earring for color.

Jean jacket:Amazon

Earrings: Target

If the cool weather ever comes, one of the ways I’ll transition this dress to the fall is here.

These boots and I have been running around together for close to 8 years and I love them so much it hurts. I love this red sweater layered on top of this dress almost as much. Mixing a tight piece with a loose piece is a great way to change things up and feel a little bit more modest in a show-offy dress.

Boots: Nordstrom $149 (not the same but similar)

Sweater: Goodnight Macaroon $59 (not the same but a super cute alternative)

Earrings: Target

What are your favorite ways to transition items from summer to fall??

Sunday Scaries be GONE!!

Hey Lovelies!

I don’t know about y’all but sometimes the Sunday Scaries hit me hard! Here are a couple of things that I do to try to combat the terror.

  1. Sunday is my skin care day. I usually do a mask Sunday evenings and tonight I chose a collagen eye mask that I found on Buzzfeed. They are super cheap and are great for an evening treatment or an all-nighter. Here’s hoping for younger looking eyes in the morning!! ($8 for 10)
  2. Comfy clothes is a must! Literally nothing is scary about a t-shirt dress that is so cozy it makes you want to fall asleep. I have recently been loving these Gap Factory t-shirt dresses (I have 2 of them haha). I love this pink one but it also comes in several other colors! ($20)
  3. Kitty snuggles literally make everything better. It’s science! According to some studies, it’s been found that a cat’s purring can actually help healing and reduce anxiety. So adopt a cat and cuddle it!! (But seriously, only adopt an animal if you are prepared for the commitment for it’s whole life. They’re only part of your world for a small while but you’re their whole world for their whole lives.)
  1. Meal prep for the week: I try to take healthy lunches to work during the week to control my mood and my waistline. I think one thing that helps me accomplish this is making a large amount of protein (pork tenderloin or chicken breasts or a sheet bake of some sort) on Sundays to make salads and the like during the week. This week, I’m trying some garlic & herbed rubbed chicken breasts from the butcher and roasting some asparagus to put over brown rice. Yum!
  2. If all else fails, pour yourself a glass of wine, gurl!! Don’t get too carried away because you do probably have to go to work tomorrow but one glass of wine will ease your nerves and make it easier to cope with the chaos of Monday being tomorrow!!
  • Well, lovelies, these are just the things that work for me. Let me know what you do to ease your scaries in the comments!
  • Tasseltown

    ๐Ÿ“Tasseltown, Population: Me!!

Loving this tassel-hemmed t-shirt dress from Amazon, totally complimented by my fabulous tassel earrings!

Super cute, easy outfit for a pedicure date with a girlfriend of mine.

Dress: Amazon ($15) sadly only available in in this color in L-2XL but it’s available in all sizes in a cute army green color

    Earrings: Similar ones

Purse: Goodnight Macaroon ($59) this is the plain version but you could make it your own with some craft supplies!

    Sandals: DressUp ($11)!!!

I’ve had a really rough week work-wise so it was great to have a girly pedicure date with a great girlfriend to vent and catch up. It’s extremely difficult for me (lots of us, really) to not have all the answers; and I was lacking a lot of answers at work this week. Being stretched professionally is painful at times but hopefully it pays off in experience Thankfully, my tower of cards is somewhat stable at the moment so I am working on relaxing.

How do you lovelies control your stress during difficult times??

    Workout Wear Update

I’ve been working on looking cuter at the gym than just my normal “old t-shirt and shorts” look. In doing this, I’ve bought a couple of cute workout shirts and have increased the number of Nike shorts (Norts) in my wardrobe.

I’ve been a fan of Norts since college. They were the cool thing to wear to class and look like you just rolled out of bed looking that cute (although most of us looked like we were high class hobos haha). They are still my favorite workout shorts to this day.

They’re not super cheap but Dicks is currently having a Back-to-School sale where they are 25% off! ($22.50)

This sale also has other assorted Nike & Under Armor apparel and shoes. Here are a couple that I like!

This super cute sports bra! ($22)

I think I need this in black because this deal is awesome! ($17)

Another super cute tank top that would be great for hiking and other low-impact workouts! ($30)

I bought these shorts like 10 years ago and they are still some of my fave lounge/sleep shorts. ($21) Always hoping that one day I’ll have the courage/self love to workout in these in public!

Another tank top…are you guys seeing a trend? ๐Ÿ˜‚ ($19)

These are another super cute workout shirt option ($26)

    Happy cute workouts lovelies!!

    Romper city

    Hey lovelies!

Anyone else in love with rompers? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Here are a couple I am definitely going to be buying once that sweet direct deposit hits!

I love this one! It’s so sunny and sooo cute with the little cut out. And how can you beat $14?!?

    SheIn

This is so cute, I can’t even stand it. And it’s perfect for a bachelorette weekend for a bride!!

    Vici Dolls

This would be ridiculously cute with a pair of boots to really lean into the country vibe.

    Hope’s

This is so basic and could be dressed up or down so easily.

    Dress Up

I’m in love with anything lace. This is a little scandalous but it could easily be de-scandalized with a cami or a bralette.

    Amazon

    Loving these stripes!
