Amazon Workout Legging Try on

Hey lovelies!

I had a request for an Amazon workout pant try on, so here we go! I’m wearing a small in each of these and all except for the wild card is under $25, Prime, AND at least 4 star average reviews!!

90 Degree By Reflex – Magenta Haze – $21.99

These are great. Pass the squat test with flying colors, super high waisted and it is the talk of most of the bloggers that I follow. Comes in 39 super cute colors!

Here are those same leggings in black and a sassy face haha! Fit true to size!

Afitne – Spacedye White – $18.96

These are really good leggings. They’re fairly thick and they have 2 pockets! However, I got this color for the squat test, which it did not pass. These come in 4 other colors and I don’t think that this would be an issue with the two darker colors.

Healthyoga – Light purple – $16.99

These weren’t my fave. If you’re going to pick one from this group, these wouldn’t be the one but I think you get what you pay for. They’re a little tight so I would size up. They do have wonderfully large pockets! These come in 11 other colors (but I would tend towards the darker colors).

Afitne – Sage – $19.89

THESE ARE AMAZING! They are so buttery soft and thick. I also love the piping accents that I think make your muscles pop! 100% will buy another pair and 100% my fave from this try on.

CURVE BALL!

These aren’t from Amazon. They’re from a brand called Zella and I bought them Nordstrom and they were $55. Up until I tried those Jade Afitne leggings these were my favorites hands down. I bought two pairs and I don’t regret it at all. However, I think it speaks volumes that I prefer the Afitne ones.

So there you have it!

Just-Torture-Yourself January

This is JT’s “endearing” term for the little detox that I’ve been doing since January 7th and will continue through the end of the month.

Here are the basics:

  1. No alcohol
  2. Mostly healthy eating/count calories when possible (small treats when I get a severe craving -> mini drumstick ✌🏼)
  3. Workout 3-5 times per week
  4. At least 5k steps a day
  5. Train to be able to run a 5k
  6. Potentially find a 5k race to run

I was sick a lot in November/December so I slacked off on healthy eating and exercising (and who doesn’t indulge over the holidays?!). Because of all that I was/am carrying some extra weight that was not unhealthy but wasn’t necessarily making me happy. Hence this little jumpstart.

I know that not all of these things aren’t sustainable long term; life gets in the way and sometimes working out isn’t the most important thing in the world. Just like how these extra ten pounds and the way my body looks isn’t the most important thing in the world. Having the opportunity to worry about my waist line and not where I’ll get my next meal is a privilege and ultimately how much I weigh doesn’t change anything.

I will now get off my self love soap box but it is something that we should all internalize!

Real talk in teal Corduroy

The other night I went out to dinner for my Brunswick bestie’s birthday. It was a small little dinner with a few friends and significant others. I wanted to pull together a look that was “fall-y” since we were finally having some cooler weather.

So I pulled out a pair of jeans that I don’t think I’ve worn in probably 6 months. I truthfully don’t know how to feel when I tell you that they were uncomfortable to be in or to look at myself in. I could zip them but there was a significant amount on “muffin top” going on. These amazing teal corduroy bell bottoms were the only long pants in my closet that would fit me.

As some one who has struggled with an eating disorder this is almost something to be proud of. However, I’m not proud. I’m annoyed that it means that I’ve been slacking off going to the gym even though it’s something that makes me happy. I know that it means that I need to add more veggies to my weekend diet and drinking less the whole week.

So as I write this I am wearing gym clothes because I did a 30 minute treadmill interval workout, I had a salad for lunch and chicken noodle soup for dinner. I’m making my way back to balance as opposed to leaning heavily into restriction or indulgence.

The first outfit I put together was not exactly suited for 70 degree weather so get ready to see that later on this year but I did up putting together a fall-friendly outfit that still made me over dressed for my BFF’s birthday dinner (and I didn’t care one bit!).

But I did spend a bunch of time on the water with this hunk!

It wasn’t that I was super unhealthy this weekend but it just wasn’t a priority. I’m making a pledge to y’all right now that I’m going to work out 3 times this week and eat healthy all week! Maybe I’ll actually put this outfit to work this week 😂.

Workout Wear Update

I’ve been working on looking cuter at the gym than just my normal “old t-shirt and shorts” look. In doing this, I’ve bought a couple of cute workout shirts and have increased the number of Nike shorts (Norts) in my wardrobe.

I’ve been a fan of Norts since college. They were the cool thing to wear to class and look like you just rolled out of bed looking that cute (although most of us looked like we were high class hobos haha). They are still my favorite workout shorts to this day.

They’re not super cheap but Dicks is currently having a Back-to-School sale where they are 25% off! ($22.50)
